The Dubai Department of Economic Development (DED) and Emirates Secretarial Services have signed an agreement to boost the efficiency of licensing procedures, enhance productivity and ensure added-value services to clients.
As per the agreement, Emirates Secretarial Services will use DED's licensing system to reserve trade names for its customers.
Mr Mohammed Shael Al Saadi, CEO Business Registration and Licensing Division of DED, and Shaikh Obaid Majid Obaid Al Maktoum, Chief Executive Director of Emirates Secretarial Services, signed the agreement recently, at DED headquarters.
"The agreement is in line with DED's ongoing efforts to encourage the use of eService in line with the rising use of modern technologies and to enhance service standards. We aim to provide customers with high quality services that will enable them to save time, speed up procedures and offer smooth and efficient solutions," said Mr Al Saadi.
“DED is committed to enhancing relations with the private sector by meeting its needs. This is part of DED’s strategy to strengthen Dubai’s economic growth and position it as a leading economic and trade centre. The agreement will facilitate the faster and easier payment of trade licenses fees,” added Mr Al Saadi.
Shaikh Obaid said: "The agreement with DED enhances the ability of UAE citizens to enter the labour and investment markets in projects that serve them, the UAE, residents, and visitors. This agreement also enjoys the support of government bodies led by the directions of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President & Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.
As per the agreement, DED will train Emirates Secretarial Services staff on the use of the electronic systems and provide them with any new standards and technology related to the service. A monthly statistics report of all completed licensing procedures by the Division will be sent to the Emirates Secretarial Services. DED will also hold periodic meetings in coordination with Emirates Secretarial Services.
Emirates Secretarial Services will assign a qualified and trained team to provide the electronic services agreed upon, ensure the accuracy of data that is entered into the electronic system and procedures done by them, complete transactions in the geographical scope of the Emirate of Dubai, and provide a list of services provided to customers.
