Don't be a "Snoop..."

Is it reasonable for a married couple to check each other’s email, or is this a failure to respect personal space? Jaraad explains that while he’s not sending “naked pictures” to his friends, he also feels uncomfortable knowing that everything he writes will be read by their wives.

When does sharing an email become “snooping” or “checking up”? He points to a case in the States where a US man is facing jail time for checking his wife’s email account. He also quotes a poll that suggests 45% of divorce cases involve online snooping, but at the same time that most Americans think it shouldn’t be illegal.

Jaraad lists other arguments for and against, and concludes with the point that sharing emails isn’t like sharing an ATM number… because it involves third parties which, of course, is where all the problems start…

Ivy writes about her single friend, “Tara,” who has her mind set “on a Lebanese guy from a good family that will find her, realize she is the best thing to happen to him, get on one knee, pop the freakin question and they’ll live happily ever after with 3 children.”

Unfortunately, according to Ivy, Tara is looking in all the wrong places – the clubs where guys are only after one thing, as opposed to more discreet or intimate encounters where there’s a chance lasting relationships can actually be formed. In short people go to places like “White” to hook-up, not to find love….
