Al Jazeera Egypt's legal status under review
The Egyptian Cabinet has assigned competent authorities to assess the legal status of the Al Jazeera Mubasher satellite channel, accusing it of threatening stability and national security.
The Cabinet also decided to form a committee of independent public figures to document the recent events.
This came in a meeting on Sunday to review the successful efforts of the police and the armed forces in maintaining security and stability against lawless elements.
In honor of the martyrs of the Egyptian armed forces and police, the Cabinet decided to name schools, streets and public squares after them.
