A narrow escape: Saudi students wriggle their way out of school

One student left in a tight squeeze on his way to freedom!

A Saudi student got stuck in a rut this week when he made an attempt to escape class, but was caught in an excruciatingly awkward position.

Teachers found the student in a tricky situation; stuck underneath a door he had been trying to slide out from to make his getaway. 

His quest for freedom turned sour when the student became unable to wriggle out of the (no doubt) uncomfortable situation he had got himself into.

The video has gone viral on social networking sites, but while the awkward incident may be funny to many, it shines the spotlight on a particular dilemma the country is facing.

The number of students escaping from Saudi schools and even universities is mounting, with the figures exceeding 60 percent in 2010, the latest recorded statistics from education authorities.
