Dont hate the game, hate the player. If that husband rapist/pedophile or the innocents child's parent followed islam, tis would never happen. This is just sick culture. Not religion.

Anonymous (not verified) Sun, 06/01/2014 - 19:59

The husband is a pedophile, plain and simple.

Anonymous (not verified) Sat, 05/31/2014 - 07:54

This may never ever happen again!
the rights of marriage should be art 18 years and older
NOT 18 years and younger.

NEtherlands will take down Arabian Laws one day.
and freedom will conquer

Look how the article puts blame on conservatism. Check this sentenced used in the paragraph out. In February 2009, a law was created in Yemen that set the minimum age for marriage at 17. Unfortunately, it was repealed after more conservative lawmakers called it un-Islamic. when we all know the liberals are pro Islam. But they like to twist the truth.

Anonymous (not verified) Sun, 05/11/2014 - 16:44

Idiot, just idiot.
A child died and all you can think about is your fucking political agenda.
Blame the liberals, surely the baseless connection makes you and your party look better.

Anonymous (not verified) Sun, 06/01/2014 - 09:22

Conservative is being properly used in this context, it is referring to those is Islamic beliefs who are holding onto old beliefs and traditions, Christianity used to ckndine and encoursge the same thing 2 or 3 centuries ago.

holding to traditional attitudes and values and cautious about change or innovation, typically in relation to politics or religion.
synonyms: traditionalist, traditional, conventional, orthodox, old-fashioned,
1.a person who is averse to change and holds to traditional values and attitudes, typically in relation to politics

Anonymous (not verified) Sun, 06/01/2014 - 04:21

You must be an imbecile. Liberals are not pro child abuse, and they are not necessarily pro Islamic.

Anonymous (not verified) Sun, 06/01/2014 - 04:05

Actually, the way you're using political ideological terms is only in the American sense, which is innaccurate to Yemen politics. Conservative simply means the people of the conservative ideology are for the way things traditionally were in a country; that's the universal meaning. The universal meaning of a liberal is someone who advocates change and stepping away from the original basings of a government.

So, the conservatives in YEMEN ARE PRO-ISLAMIC, because that's HOW THEIR GOVERNMENT WAS FOUNDED.

Educate yourself before you comment.

Anonymous (not verified) Sun, 06/01/2014 - 05:42

Shut the hell up, it looks like you like to twist logic.

Anonymous (not verified) Sun, 06/01/2014 - 03:56

Eastern Conservatism and Western Conservatism aren't the same things, no one is claiming that Republicans approve of child rape, and while Liberals support freedom of religion and don't like the idea of persecuting someone for not being christian, they would not support Islam's "right" to control and demean women and girls.

Anonymous (not verified) Sun, 06/01/2014 - 01:22

Conservative = more conservative beliefs about Islamic religion

Anonymous (not verified) Sun, 06/01/2014 - 00:18

It's conservative MUSLIMS not conservative people moron. You do realize that the word 'conservative' existed long before it was applied to political beliefs? By the way, who do you think killed Osama Bin Laden? The President must really love Islam to have done that.

Anonymous (not verified) Sat, 05/31/2014 - 17:41

Seriously? Okay, normally I would not respond to something so ridiculous, but I'm going to entertain it because it's obvious that you simply don't understand what the article is saying.

"Conservative" and "liberal" are actually words that aren't always synonymous with the American Republican and Democratic parties. In an article like this, when discussing a world issue that has absolutely nothing to do with American politics, "conservative" is used to mean "holding to traditional attitudes and values and cautious about change or innovation, typically in relation to politics or religion." In this case, it's referring to the traditional Yemen government, and, as Yemen is an Islamic country, their traditional values ARE centered on Islam.

So, no, the article is NOT "putting blame on [American] conservatism."

Michelle DuBose (not verified) Sat, 05/31/2014 - 13:55

As a liberal, I'm rather disappointed at how friendly to Islam others of this party are. However, that doesn't mean that those in Yemen who repealed the law are liberal. The political parties of one country are not like the political parties of another. If you went to Yemen as a Conservative you may quickly find yourself siding with the Liberals.

Anonymous (not verified) Fri, 05/30/2014 - 20:32

You're an idiot. There is a big difference between conservative islamics in Yemen and conservative people in the west. It's gobsmacking that you can't tell the difference.

Anonymous (not verified) Fri, 05/30/2014 - 15:42

A child of 8 yrs old died. And you are worried about, people blaming "conservatism"? You need to get your priorities straight.
But you are right it's probably the liberals who made this possible......idiot

We need to help them. This is so sad. "Un-islamic" ? -- This is just a f****** excuse. You're using religion to illusionised that it's okay? Stop the excuses.

Anonymous (not verified) Wed, 02/19/2014 - 17:13

Its sad that centuries old barbaric practices still go on today. Human nature can be very sick. What kind of people sit in government in Yemen? Hopefully, there are leaders with common sense and have an understanding of human rights. Should take a long hard look at laws concerning child brides and make this a serious crime. Marriage is supposed to be beautiful and sacred. Its time people realised life is a blessing. Not to be taken lightly. And whatever religion or culture you aspire to remember: God is watching you.

Anonymous (not verified) Tue, 12/03/2013 - 10:45

I don't believe that it has anything to do with religion, culture, or the other excuses used. It is the sickness of anyone who would even consider doing something so horrendous. There are very sick, and perverted people all around the world. We need to make each individual accountable for their own actions. I personally can't say what I would have done to someone had they done anything even close to what these poor children endured had this been my Daughter. Just think of the sickest, most disgusting thing that can be done to someone, then you may have figured out the beginning of the torment which I would have inflicted on someone. Yes,I would have enjoyed every second of it. May her soul be in peace. My blessings to anyone who has endured any type of sexual assault. You are in my heart

Anonymous (not verified) Thu, 10/31/2013 - 22:04

In this particular case It has everything to do with islam, they are just following the example of the prophet Muhammed who did the same with aisha. He was slso a pedophile.

justiceforchildren (not verified) Sun, 05/11/2014 - 11:36

All religion in the world should be banned! So sick fucks and people can stop blaming religion for their behavior! "These men" and people part of this religion should all go to jail if u believe in something so horrible! And where are these little girls parents??? These people need to be educated!

Anonymous (not verified) Fri, 10/11/2013 - 01:48

Where is justice, is Yemen asleep, this is not ordinary human or animal behaviour. The world must do something
To bring these people to justice, this is pedophilia
murder and torture to children .
Where is our humanity ....

Nic Leon (not verified) Fri, 10/11/2013 - 00:48

This is disgusting. Don't call them animals. That's an insult to animals. Those who commit or condone atrocities like this have no place in a society of human beings. They are scum, the worst that humankind can create. They are an abomination that deserves the cruelest, most painful and unmerciful punishment we can deliver. To think that a religion even remotely permits this is beyond belief. We should all be ashamed of our species.

Anonymous (not verified) Tue, 10/08/2013 - 09:35

what kind of Anima would do this?? I Don't care what part of the Planet or what religion you are!!! The men who do this are PIGS and Should Die like PIGS Burning in Hell for Eternity!!!!

Anonymous (not verified) Thu, 10/03/2013 - 18:06

I used to be tolerant of all religions, but after the repeal on a age limit because they consider it un-Islamic, I am now a FIRM believer that all men in Yemen need to have their d****s removed!!
