Participants at EMAL's Summer Training programme
Emirates Aluminium (EMAL) has announced that 29 Emirati students are taking part in a new expanded Summer Training programme at the Taweelah aluminium smelter this month, designed to bridge the gap between theoretical studies and practical experience.
Following last year’s successful Summer Training, the new programme is an example of EMAL’s commitment and dedication to sustainable employment for the UAE community in line with the country’s 2030 vision, and offers young UAE nationals a chance to gain hands on experience in preparation for careers within the aluminium industry following graduation.
Describing the programme, Abdelhakeem Al Moushtaghil, EMAL’s Vice President for Human Resources and Corporate Efficiency, said: “The number of applications for this year’s summer programme at EMAL has tripled compared to 2010. That is due to the highly positive response to last year’s summer training as well as the innovations introduced in this summer’s programme. The rapidly growing reputation of EMAL as a renowned brand both locally and internationally is another reason for attracting more trainees this year.”
