algeria funeralA bomb attack on a police station east of Algiers on Wednesday killed at least three people and injured seven, the Interior Ministry said. "There has been an attack with explosives near a police station in Naciria. The attack left three dead and seven wounded," the ministry said in a statement.

According to the AP, the ministry provided no further details on the attack in Naciria, in the region of Boumerdes. The official statement blamed "some local parties" for the explosion.

Last month, bombing attacks carried out by al Qaeda members killed at least 37 people, including 17 United Nations staff members.
