It seems like famous Egyptian actor Hussein Fahmi has contracted the singing virus as well after his latest marriage to artist Liqa Swaidan, who will also launch a new musical album during the summer season.
Fahmi is recording a number of songs for the time being that he’ll perform in his upcoming television drama series “Wikalat Atyeh” (Atyeh’s Company), which was written by Khairi Shalbi and directed by Rafat Al Mihi. The songs for the series are written by poet Baha Jaheen and composed by Farouq Al Sharnoubi.
According to the London daily Elaph, composer Farouq Al Sharnoubi says that Fahmi’s singing won’t be the normal type of singing that audiences are used to; it will be more like a dialect than singing and many actors have done it before. On the other hand, Fahmi’s role in the drama series is playing the character “Sayed Al Zinati” who is married to five wives, yet he tries to fight brutality.
The drama series “Wikalat Atyeh” includes a large number of famous actors like Salwa Khatab, Ahmad Bdair, Ahmad Azmi, Intisar, Riyad Al Kholi, Muhammad Metwali, Ghada Ibrahim and Maya Nasri who competes with Fahmi and sings 19 songs that were written by Baha Jaheen also and composed by the musician Amir Abed Al Majid. The series takes place during the 1940’s in a small town in Egypt.
