cairo blastEgyptian security forces have detained seven suspected members of an al-Qaeda linked group accused of carrying out a bombing attack on a famous Cairo bazaar that killed a French teenager, Egypt's Interior Ministry announced Saturday. According to the ministry, the suspects were part of a group called the Palestinian Islamic Army, which is headed by two Egyptians, who remain at large outside their country.

Accordingo the AP, the detained suspects include two Palestinians, two Egyptians, a British-Egyptian, a Belgian-Tunisian and a French-Albanian woman.

An Egyptian security official conveyed members of the group entered into Gaza Strip via tunnels under the Egyptian border to receive special training and instructions. One of the seven arrested confessed to performing the bombing last February at Cairo's Khan el-Khalili bazaar. The official added the cell wanted to target other tourist sites in Egypt and oil facilities in the western desert.
