Iraq de-mining efforts go on

According to <i>Alfourat</i>, a reliable source at the ministry of planning and development confirmed that the authority responsible for de-mining has cleared 34,890,527 square meters from mines and other explosion devices.The source added that 473,158 tons of war materials were destroyed.

 

He indicated that the destructed equipments reached 218,866 pieces.This work comes as part of the efforts by the authority to clear all areas that are planted with mines and to clear all areas that witnessed military combats during the three wars that Iraq was involved in. The main objective of the authority is to destruct all bombs and save lives of innocent Iraqi citizens.
