Construction of building for elderly house in Baghdad
Posted: 07-03-2005 , 11:29 GMT

According to Al-Zamman newspaper (March 6, 2005), the Iraq Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs has completed the construction of a building for the elderly house in the Baghdad’s Al-Adhamiya neighborhood. The two storey building offers different services to both female and male old people. The Al-Farouq Company, a subsidiary of the former Iraqi Housing Ministry, had completed 70% of this building project during the previous Iraqi regime. Yet, this company suspended work at the project in the end of 2001.

Leila Abdul-Latif, Minister of Labor, said that many Iraqi elderly had lost their families in the war and need health and social care services.
