Iraq to establish cancer studies center

The issue of fighting cancer is high on the agenda of the Iraqi health authorities. Lately, the Iraqi Council has approved a law to establish a cancer center that its main objective is to study the disease and its characteristics in Iraq.


A spokesman for the Iraqi health ministry revealed that the spread of cancer in Iraq is alarming and there is a need for the health ministry to work out plans to study the issue. He explained, according to <i>Alfourat</i> newspaper, that establishing a database and having  Iraqi experts to work on this issue will be helpful to help Iraq fight cancer.
