UAE Red Crescent donates US$250,000 to Iraq

Engineer Layal Abedelatiff Mohammad, the Iraqi labor and social affairs minister, has said that the association of the Red Crescent in the UAE donated US$ 250,000 to the orphan house in the city of Al Sadr.


The minister added that this was not the only humanitarian assistance provided by the UAE Red Crescent as it already provided the needed equipment to various offices within the ministry and it took care of more than 6000 people across Iraq.

 

The minister, according to <i>Alahli</i> newspaper, admitted that there is a lot of work to be done in order to find solutions to the many social problems in Iraq. However, she expressed her optimism that with the help of the international community will ease the suffering of the Iraqi people.
