Baghdad municipality to supervise USAID-funded projects

USAID has given authority to Baghdad municipality to supervise on the implementation of projects that are funded by the agency.

 

A senior official at Baghdad municipality said that Alaa Altamim, Baghdad mayor, met with officials of USAID in Washington DC and explained them the difficulties of the municipality to follow up the program of the projects under the current system.

 

The source added, according to Azzaman newspaper, that Altamimi succeeded in persuading the official at the US agency to accept his request, adding that under the current systems  there are problems to coordinate among the various companies involved.
