According to Al-Ahali newspaper, the Iraqi Businessmen Association (IBA) signed an agreement with the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity to build new electricity generation stations with a capacity of 150 megawatts. Mr. Hashem Al-Ali, Head of Commercial Contracts Department in the IBA, said that this agreement aims to enhance the private sector's participation in the vital investments and projects in Iraq. The new stations will be set up in association with Japanese companies and through financing from Arab banks, the official added.
