Irrigation projects underway in Iraqi province

Abed Mohammad Alwa’eli, the head of the water resources department in Wasit province, said that the province has implemented a significant portion of irrigation projects that their value amount to 3.464 billion Dinar. He revealed, according to <i>Alahali</i> newspaper, that the projects included the construction of irrigation channels and water dams to prevent the waste of water.

 

In a related development, Engineer Iskander, the head of the agriculture department at Wasit province, has admitted that the province suffers from problems in distributing fertilizers to farmers. He disclosed, however, that the ministry set a strategy to overcome the problem.
