Iraqi ministry of water resources helps in increasing electricity production

The Iraqi ministry of water resources succeeded in increasing the production of electricity to 40 percent of the total national production capacity.

 

In this context, Dr. Abedelatif Jamal Rashid, Iraq's minister of water resources said that at normal times the ministry contributes in generating between 15-25 percent of the total capacity. The minister noted, according to <i> Alsabaah</i> newspaper, that the appropriate management of the water dams plays an important role in the process of increasing generation of electricity.

 

In a related development, the Japanese government decided to finance the implementation of  two water projects at Almothan province at a cost of more than US$ 1 million.
