A car bomb went off Saturday in central Iraq, killing five people, including four police officers on patrol, while armed men shot dead an education official in Baghdad. A U.S. Marine was killed in Ramadi, the US military stated Saturday. Iraq car bombing


The car bomb in Khan Bani Saad, near the city of Baqouba in central Iraq, also wounded two police officers and three civilians, provincial police Col. Mudafar al-Jubori said, according to The AP.


In Baghdad, gunmen opened fire from a vehicle, killing Hassib Zamil outside of the Education Ministry offices in the Sadr City neighborhood, education official Ibrahim Abid Wali said.


The Marine was killed Friday while conducting security operations in Ramadi, the U.S. military said.


In the capital Friday, a rocket propelled grenade was fired at an armored vehicle used to transport American soldiers on a road leading to the airport highway, injuring two American soldiers, the U.S. military said.
