Over 60 killed in Iraq blast

iraq bomb Police lookOver 60 people were killed and dozens more were hurt in a truck bombing near a Shiite mosque in northern Iraq. According to AFP, the blast targeted the mosque in the south of the city of Kirkuk on Saturday.

 

"We have received 22 bodies and dozens of wounded from the bombing at Al-Rasoul mosque," the head of the morgue at Kirkuk hospital Ibrahim Mahmoud was quoted as saying by the news agency.

 

A police source told Reuters that about 200 people had also been wounded by the explosion.

 

On Friday, two Iraqi security men died and another two were hurt as a bomb ripped through Tabaj village in the town of Jalawlaa in the Khanaqin district of the Diyala province.
