At least 12 die in Iraq explosions

iraq blastA series of blasts killed at least 12 people and injured dozens Sunday in the western Iraqi city of Ramadi, said police and hospital officials. According to the AP, the first bombing took place in a parking lot near the police headquarters for Anbar province and the provincial council building in the city of Ramadi, said a Ramadi police official.

 

As police and bystanders rushed to the scene, a suicide bomber on a motorcycle blew himself up among the crowds, said the police official. According to the official, a third blast took place later.

 

According to the police official, 16 people died in the attacks, while an official at the Ramadi hospital said 12 bodies were brought to the hospital.
