The American chamber of commerce in Jordan, with the assistance of the American embassy and the support of Jordanian al Ahli Bank, held a seminar concerning banking activities in Iraq. More than 80 participants from the Jordan, Iraq, and other states took part in this event.

The seminar discussed a number of issues concerning the banking sector in Iraq and the needs of Iraqi bankers in fields such as technology, real estate loans and housing finance. According to Petra news agency, the value of housing finance in Iraq is estimated at US$200 million.

This seminar was part of the activities of a joint American - Jordanian business program, which started June 2003 in order to help Jordanian, American and Iraqi companies and provide them with all information concerning trade with Iraq.
