Kuwait Finance House (Malaysia) Berhad Wins Best Islamic Financial Services/ Products Category in The Halal Journal Awards 2008

Kuwait Finance House (Malaysia) Berhad emerged as the winner of "The Best Islamic Financial Services/ Products" in The Halal Journal Awards 2008 (THJ Awards). Encik Mohamed Ismail Mohamed Shariff, KFHMB Board Member, received the award on behalf of the Bank from the Prime Minister, YAB Dato’ Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

Eight awards were presented to celebrate and honour outstanding achievements and innovations in the Halal industry during a Gala Dinner held at the Kuala Lumpur Exhibition Centre last night, held in conjunction with the World Halal Forum (WHF). The other categories for the awards were Most Creative Marketing Campaign, Best Corporate Social Responsibility Project, Travel & Hospitality, Best Halal-Related Service Provider, Best Innovation in Halal Industry and Outstanding Personal Achievement in the Halal Industry.

The THJ Awards Selection Committee had highlighted the extremely good and encouraging response for this year's THJ Awards, where a large number of nominations had been received from all over the world.  These included from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Netherlands, United Kingdom (UK), Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Canada, Malaysia and Australia.  This indicates that Halal products have been well received, even from the non-Muslim owned companies in the world.

“On behalf of Kuwait Finance House (Malaysia) Berhad, I would like to thank the organiser for this award. I am also delighted that the Bank has been able to contribute towards Malaysia’s vision as the Halal hub in this region,” KFHMB Managing Director, YBhg. Dato’ K. Salman Younis said. “We are pleased to have established our operations in the vibrant, innovative and competitive Islamic financial services industry in Malaysia, further supported by high calibre human talents, world-class infrastructure and globally-recognised standards.”

Dato’ Salman has also extended his thanks to each and every employee of Kuwait Finance House (Malaysia) Berhad for their efforts in creating a strong image for the Bank.
