Gulf Bank’s Chief Financial Officer speaks at the American University of Kuwait

As the Platinum Sponsor of the American University of Kuwait’s Model United Nations Conference, Gulf Bank’s Chief Financial Officer, Carlos Ribeiro, spoke at the American University’s opening ceremony.

The opening ceremony took place at AUK and was under the patronage of H.H. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Sabah Al Salem Al Sabah who was represented by Ambassador Abdul-Aziz Al-Sharekh, Head of the Kuwaiti Diplomatic Institute. The ceremony begun with a speech by the hosts of MUNAUK, followed by a welcome speech by Marina Tolmacheva, President of AUK. Ambassador Al-Sharekh, Waleed Al-Khashti, Head of Public Relations at Zain and George Cooper, CEO of Wataniya Airways also gave a brief speech.
 
Gulf Bank’s Carlos Ribeiro spoke about the need to have organizations and conferences such as the MUN because of its aim to educate participants about civics, effective communication, globalization and multilateral diplomacy. He also stressed how this type of conference aims at assisting the future generation of Kuwaiti diplomats and business people.
 
In conclusion Ribeiro discussed the Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility program saying, “Gulf Bank is committed to offering new opportunities for the youth of Kuwait to learn new and important skills that will develop their talents. They are the essence of Kuwait and the future pillars to a prosperous and continuously growing society.”
