AirFrance plane crash - debris located; Five Lebanese feared dead

air franceA C130 plane of the Brazilian Air Force (FAB), which is involved in the searches of the missing Airbus A330 of Air France, located in the early hours of Tuesday debris of the plane in the Atlantic Ocean. Air France Flight 447, disappeared Monday over the Atlantic Ocean with 228 people aboard.

 

The information was disclosed by Coronel Antonio Jorge Amaral, chief deputy of the Center for Aeronautics Commission. The pilots reported seeing a plane seat, an orange ball, small white pieces, a drum, and traces of oil and kerosene.

 

Amaral pointed out that the wreckage was only found, but not collected, since the vessels of the Brazilian Navy responsible for the searches were moved but they did not yet reached the site - 650 km north from “Fernando de Noronha”.

The confirmation that this is the Airbus A330 will only be made after the material will be collected and analyzed.

 

Meanwhile, at least five Lebanese passengers are feared among the missing AirFrance flight from Rio de Janeiro to Paris. According to the AP, the Lebanese foreign ministry on Tuesday identified the five missing Lebanese as Ahmad Fawzi, Bassam Murr, Hussein Khalife, Sonia al-Muallem and Akram Ku.

 

Air France Flight 447, an Airbus A330, left Rio on Sunday at 7 p.m. local time with 216 passengers and 12 crew members on board
