Posted: 02-07-2009 , 14:47 GMT

saadHarriiThe Prime Minister-designate of Lebanon said a national unity government must be formed.  Saad Hariri called for the end of the current political split between the ruling majority and the opposition, according to the Al-Akhbar daily.

Hariri said, “we hope to open a new page to form a national unity cabinet in which everyone is represented… I hope that the division would come to an end.”  He went on to say in the new government there must be “dialogue in building trust among the Lebanese.”

The new cabinet is expected to begin in two to three weeks, said the daily Lebanese newspaper.
