Sadam as a Holy Symbol
Posted: 19-07-2007 , 12:41 GMT

The late Iraqi President Sadam Hussein is back in the spotlight once again through a new song. The new song is called “Al Qidis Sadam” (The Holy Sadam) and is written and composed by the Libyan poet Ali Al Kilani. The Jordanian singer Amal Al Shalabi will be singing the new song.sadam

The song is about the dramatic change that the late Iraqi president went through when he was in prison and during his trial. He was shown as calm as he could be and brought such uneasiness to those who wanted him out of the way. He became as a fighter against the American and British. The moment of his hanging stayed as a symbol for changing points, which is why Kilani puts him among the Holy and martyrs.

According to the London daily Elaph, Al Kilani, who was in Egypt to launch a promotional campaign for the new songs, says that he is proud of the project and it was a success in Libya. Kilani was encouraged to work on this song where he paid for the expenses from his own money. He adds that it is a changing point for his musical career and the level of his wording.

Al Kilani feels that the late president is a great man who has stood high against his enemies. He was shown as a strong and powerful man who has surprised people throughout the world. sadam

Al Kilani chose the trial and the hanging period, because it showed a shift in the late president’s life. The hanging inspired the poet into working on this project. Kilani says that choosing the day of the hanging was thought out carefully where it was done on a Friday the first day of “Eid El Adha” which is considered as an insult to every Muslim.

Al Kilani has asked many singers to sing his daring song, yet they all refused to do so except Amal Al Shalabi who sang it willingly.

This is the worst thing that anyone can do to the Iraqi people! Saddam made Iraqis suffer, Sunni and Shia! He made Kurds and Chrisitians suffer! He is the root of all that is evil. Whomever calls him a matr is a COWARD! Ali & Amal are ignorant people who don't know the history of Iraq and should be boycotted! Instead of doing a song about how Iraq should unite, they sing a song that will FURTHER destroy Iraq. God Bless Iraq and may God give peace to Baghdad!

Imagine a mother who lost everything thanks to that dictor (funny how albawaba forgets to mention "dictatorship" in their reference) listening to such a "song"? Its not different to a Palestinian mother hearing a song praising Ariel Sharon...but we wouldn't expect that, as Iraqis are considered "lower" no?

Just like every other King, Emire and Dictator of the Muslim world, Saddam served the interests of Israel by keeping his people in a un-democratic society. When he was captured, Sharon was first to see him in jail. He was the real servant of Zionists.
