Sudan's president visited his third country in four days Thursday, this time in Libya, the latest country to welcome the leader who's wanted by an international court on war crimes. Al-Bashir was received by Secretary of the Libyan General People's Committee Dr. Al-Baghdadi Ali Mahmoud.
According to the AP, Omar al-Bashir met with Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi Thursday, hailing Tripoli's support for Sudan following the March 4 arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court. His visit Thursday came after a trip Wednesday to Egypt and a stop Monday in Eritrea.
According to SUNA news agency, Al-Bashir talks with Gadhafi in the Libyan town of Serte Thursday concentrated on "bilateral relations and means of boosting them further besides issues of mutual concern including realization of peace in Darfur and the allegations of the so-called International Criminal Court and the stance of Sudan towards them."
The ICC accuses al-Bashir of orchestrating a counterinsurgency against Darfur rebels that has involved rapes, killings and other atrocities against civilians.
