The city of Taroudant will hold its first festival of the art of Dakka (traditional drumming) and other rhythms of Souss from 11 to 14 of May. During this festival the city of Taroudant will host a number of musical groups coming from all over Morocco including Marrakech, Essaouira, Demnate and of course Taroudant.
<i>EMarrakech</i> reports that apart from the music performances that will be presented during the event, the public will also be invited to take part in various exhibitions of local arts and crafts and in conferences dealing with the art of Dakka, as well as in performance of ‘popular story telling’ (the popular art of Halqua).
