Ariel Sharon has a respiratory infection that had forced doctors to delay surgery on the ailing Israeli leader, the Hadassah hospital declared Tuesday.  According to the AP, Sharon, 78, was to undergo surgery Tuesday afternoon to reattach a portion of his skull removed after his Jan. 4 stroke. The Jerusalem-based hospital said the operation was delayed "due to a slight infection discovered this morning in his respiratory tract." It was being treated with antibiotics.
The surgery, which would have been Sharon's eighth since his stroke, is routine for people in his condition, but does involve risk, added the hospital spokesman. "There is no surgery without risks. After Sharon committed the massacre of Sabra and Shatila in Lebanon in which hundreds of Palestinian young men, women and even babies were lined up and shot dead, said in an interview " I rather be a live Nazi than a dead Jew".Today Sharon looks more like a dead Jew than a live nazi and in his case that is perfectly fine. |
