Israel kills two Palestinians in West Bank

A Palestinian was killed Thursday by Israeli troops in the West Bank city of Salfeet, medical sources reported. Palestinian deadThe sources said that Wahib al-Deek 27, died at the city's hospital of wounds he sustained Thursday morning when Israeli soldiers opened fire at him while storming Salfeet.

 

Earlier Thursday, occupation soldiers killed a Palestinian during a confrontation with stone throwers in the West Bank, Palestinian security sources and hospital officials said.

 

Also in the West Bank, Israeli troops nabbed 12 Palestinians in different locations, witnesses said, WAFA reported. According to witnesses, Israeli soldiers stormed Balata refugee camp of Nablus and took five men.

 

Local witnesses added that Israeli soldiers stormed several villages in Jenin, conducted house-to-house search operations and abducted three Palestinians.

 

In Bethlehem, Israeli soldiers nabbed three Palestinians in Asakra village. Meanwhile, a man was abducted by Israeli troops which stormed his house in Tulkarem refugee camp, witnesses added.

 

In the Gaza Strip, Israeli troops stationed in the vicinity of the Mintar (Karni) crossing east of Gaza city fired at a Palestinian and killed him on the spot, claiming he was armed and approaching the separation fence between the Gaza Strip and the green line.

 

Medical sources in Shifa hospital said that the 21-year-old Alaa Mikkawi was hit with bullets in the head and killed instantly. They said that his body was found near the Nahal Oz crossing east of Gaza.

 

Mikkawi was the first Palestinian to be killed in the Strip since the calm went into effect between Palestinian factions and Israel more than two weeks ago.
