Thermal cameras will be installed at all entry points to Saudi Arabia in order to monitor passengers. They will be operational within the next 48 hours, the Saudi Ministry of Health has declared.
According to Arab News, the Health Ministry said the country was gearing up to counter the spread of the swine flu and until the thermal machines become operational, quarantine officials at airports and seaports have been ordered to be on alert to check passengers who come from infected countries for fever.
Kuwait on Wednesday started airport screening of passengers arriving from countries with reported cases of swine flu. Travelers arriving from Mexico, the United States and Britain, will be checked at the airport for any rise in temperature, it was declared in Kuwait City.
In the UAE, authorities have banned the import and sale of pork as a precautionary measure against swine flu, Gulf News reported on Wednesday. The ban covers cooking the pork in hotels.
