Prominent Syrian singer Asalah Nasri has answered back threats with regards to her scheduled performance in Yemen, which were made by Islamic extremist. The singer stressed that in the past she had held a performance in Algeria and the conditions there were just as dangerous and complicated and that she has strong faith in God and is not afraid of anything or anyone.asa

The singer said that those who have made the threats do not know the difference between singers who present real art and those who present cheap performances, stressing that despite all threats she will hold her concert in Yemen and prays that she will be able to meet the expectations of fans who are anxious to attend her performance and hear her sing.

Asalah had made her comments through her official website. Many of Asalah’s fans were very proud of the singer’s courage, while others truly feared for her safety.

According to the London based Elaph, Islamic extremist had made attacks on the First Annual Music Festival that is taking place in Yemen, and which the singer is to participate in, especially after a  promotional campaign was held to announce the performance of the singer, which is a first by an Arab singer in Yemen.

A member of the Yemen parliament, who is also an Islamic extremist, stated openly that such a performance by Asalah is not dignified and against the teachings of Islam, stressing that her performance must be stopped at any cost.
