Syrian comedian Mahmoud Jaber dies

The Syrian comedian Mahmoud Jaber passed away at age 73. He was buried in the “Bab Al Saghir” cemetery in the center of Damascus.  A large number of Syrian artists and novelists were present for his funeral.mahmud


 The late comedian lost his battle with a long illness.  He left the hospital and went to his home to die peacefully with his family.


 Jaber’s family includes a number of actors, like his wife, actress Haifa Wasef, her sister Muna Wasef, Jaber’s two daughters Marah and Laila, as well as his brother Naji Jaber, known for his role as the character Abu Antar and Haitham Jaber.


 The late comedian is considered to be one of the founders of the Syrian art association and the Syrian theater. He also took part in a large number of plays like “Abtal Baladna” (Our Country Heroes), “AL Khrooj Min Al Janah” (Leaving Heaven) and “Tahet Al Ramad” (Under The Ashes). He also took part in various radio and cinema projects.
