The drama series was also aired on ‘Al Jadid’ channel during the holy month of Ramadan.

According to the London daily Elaph, Solaf Fawakhriji, who plays Asmahan, the director, and the producer of the drama series were all guests on the show.

The show was filmed at Asmahan’s castle in the ‘Al Abadyeh’ area in Syria.
Host Slaibi commented that the complications in the production of the “Asmahan” drama series is more complicated than Lebanese politics.

While the cast and crew were filming one of the episodes, a passenger in a car fired gunshots as they drove past the castle.  No one was hurt in the incident.

On the show Solaf seemed to be living the part of Asmahan, she said that there are many things still inside of her and that she felt like singing. She also said that she respects Asmahan, because she resembles the female characters from of Shakespeare and Najeeb Mahfoz’s novels.

“Asmahan was a strong and courageous woman,” said Solaf, criticizing the press for over-looking her great achievements.  Asmahan connected water pipes to the ‘Al Swaida” area in Syria, for example.

The director of the drama series Shawqi Al Majri explained that he wanted to show the human side of Asmahan.

The producer of the series Firas Ibrahim was shocked when a relative of Asmahan’s family, Fouad Al Atrash, filed sevearl lawsuits against the producers for their depiction of Asmahan and her family.
