Posted: 25-05-2009 , 12:56 GMT

Walid MoallemSyrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem on Monday said Damascus will not return to the negotiations table with Israel unless they are fruitful. ''When Syria decides to go back to negotiations, this will happen according to internationally recognized principles and references and on the basis of liberating the Syrian Golan back to June 4th line," he added, according to SANA.

Al-Moallem was speaking during a joint press conference with Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Conference Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu at the end of the OIC Foreign Ministers conference.

On his part, Ihsanoglu conveyed that resistance is a legitimate right for people to defend their rights. ''Islamic countries belong to one nation, and disagreements between member countries is natural, but must be resolved within the Organization's framework,'' he added.
