Posted: 18-11-2006 , 08:39 GMT

Global and regional digital leader LG Electronics is well on its way to take on the fast growing tablet PC market with the launch of its C1 Express Dual series.

The company unveiled the new line in ultra portable notebooks with powerful mobility and advanced capabilities on the first day of the GITEX 2006, the Middle East’s largest IT exhibition.

The C1 Express Dual ‘convertible’ notebook PC exudes the essence of portability, and is powered by Intel Core Duo Processor to deliver breakthrough mobile performance with multi-tasking capabilities.

It combines the functionality of notebook with the convenience of a tablet. Enhanced with a discrete nVIDIA Geforce Go 7300 graphic card, the C1 enables users to work with significantly enhanced efficiency.

The distinctive swivel action of the 10.6-inch fine bright touch sensitive screen rotates in either direction and flips down to ‘convert’ into a tablet position for taking notes. Weighing approximately 1kg*, this power house is easy to carry and delivers on the battery life of an impressive five and a half hours.*

“Ergonomics are as important as features and the C1 is a perfect example,” said C. H. Lee, President, LG Electronics Gulf FZE.
“The C1 boasts better productivity and mobility when compared to other tablet PC’s in the same grade. The C1 Express Dual builds on LG’s heritage of leading edge notebook technology and award-winning piano black designs of the T1 and S1. It defines the tablet PC in prestige, power and portability.”

Furthermore, C1 is finished in a strongly contrasting two-tone motif of highly glossy piano black and white.
As a powerful tablet PC, the C1 Express Dual offers enhanced usage convenience with the superior wireless connectivity through its Dual-Hexa bank antenna, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi capability. It also comes equipped with and embedded 5-in-one memory card reader, and CF Type 1.
The C1 offers users extended ease of use with its IP Operator that is designed to help manage network configuration for both wired and wireless connection with exceptional ease of use. The notebook also comes with a ‘Battery-Miser’ that extends battery life by efficiently managing the power scheme to enhance mobility.
