Morgan Stanley Appoints Head of Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Equities And Distribution

Morgan Stanley (NYSE:MS) today announced the appointment of Fahmi Alghussein as the investment bank’s Executive Director, Head of MENA Distribution for equity products, based in the DIFC, Dubai.

Mr Alghussein will be responsible for building Morgan Stanley’s Middle East equities franchise across 12 MENA markets for cash and derivatives.   He will work closely with Morgan Stanley’s London, New York and Far East teams to roll out the firm’s MENA sales and trading capabilities. He will report to Sammy Kayello, Managing Director, Sales and Trading.

Commenting on the appointment, Mr Kayello said, “I am delighted that Fahmi has decided to join Morgan Stanley, especially during this exciting time when we are expanding rapidly in the MENA region. He has an impressive 16 year track record, and has built a very strong reputation in Middle East equities.  Fahmi’s appointment further enhances the strength and depth of products Morgan Stanley is offering to its clients in this region.”

Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Mr Alghussein was MENA Global Specialist Sales Director with Citigroup Global Markets in London (CGML).  In this role he managed and developed relationships in the global equity business for CGML, dealing mainly with financial institutions, hedge funds and pension funds.
