Posted: 15-06-2008 , 08:57 GMT

Ta'aheel, the region's premier events management company and consultant for the beverage industry, has announced that a distinguished group of decision makers, industry experts and international speakers will gather today (Sunday, June 15, 2008) for the opening of the 2nd Arab Beverages Forum, being held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from June 15 to 16, 2008.

The Arab Beverages Forum - sponsored by the Arab Beverage Association (ABA) and Tetra Pak - has been hailed as the regional beverage industry's premier networking event as it facilitates a first-of-its-kind high-level discussion on the most pressing issues affecting key players in the Arab World. Moreover, the event also serves as a consolidating force for the region's beverage industry through complementary initiatives such as the Qatrah Award, one of the event's major highlights that seeks to recognise the Arab World’s best brands in various categories.

"The high-level participation we have gathered for the 2nd Arab Beverages Forum reflects the event's huge impact on the regional beverage industry. Many of the participants have been encouraged to attend this year's event following the great success of the inaugural Forum, thus we have made it a point to exhaust all means necessary to exceed their expectations in this year's edition," said Sharaf Dabbagh, President, Ta'aheel.

The 2nd Arab Beverages Forum features a series of in-depth discussions focusing on key issues that contribute to the advancement of the beverage industry. Regional and global trends, innovations and new best practices are high on the agenda of the annual forum, while other key points to be discussed are the proliferation of brands and trademark positioning; packaging, retail and marketing trends, partnerships through distribution and channel management, ingredients and health issues.

At least 15 international speakers, which include CEOs, Managing Directors and consultants from global firms, have confirmed participation to provide expert analysis and opinion on the different issues that are unique to the regional industry.

"We are deeply grateful to all the distinguished speakers who have confirmed their participation in the 2nd Arab Beverages Forum. Their attendance is a crucial factor in maintaining the Forum's high-level of excellence and credibility, and ensuring its place as the most significant event of its kind in the region," said Dabbagh.

To be held concurrently with the 2nd Arab Beverages Forum are the first Bottled Water Forum and the first Flavours and Food Additives Exhibition at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. On the other hand, some 200 beverage companies have been short listed for the Qatrah Award, which will hand out awards in several categories, including bottled water, carbonated and soft drinks, fruit juices, dairy beverages, health and energy drinks, and hot beverages.
