Regional Practice Wins Prestigious "Landscaping Contractor of the Year" Award

Regional landscape practice, TerraVerde, is celebrating after being named 'Landscaping Contractor of the Year' at ITP Business Publishing's inaugural Facilities Management Middle East Awards.

TerraVerde, an independent company based in Dubai, provides a wide range of landscape contracting services. These include creative landscaping, outdoor lighting, indoor plants and pots, the design and implementation of sustainable water features and irrigation methods, and garden maintenance for commercial and residential projects, large or small.

TerraVerde was presented with the award at a ceremony which was held in Dubai on 9th June, 2008. The first ever Facilities Management Middle East Awards set out to raise the profile of the industry and reward and recognise those that have made significant contributions to its development. More than 200 leading facilities management professionals - including developers, service providers, contractors and building owners - attended the ceremony, which was judged by a panel of industry experts.

Whilst presenting the award, the judges stated that the 'Landscaping Contractor of the Year' award was given to the company which best demonstrated the implementation of innovative ways in landscaping maintenance, including the conservation of natural resources. TerraVerde was especially pleased to have triumphed over a number of the region's more established landscaping companies, proving that TerraVerde's holistic, environmental approach is not only sector leading but highly effective. The judges indicated that they were particularly impressed with TerraVerde's passion to "ensure a sustainable legacy for generations to come", and the company's efforts to implement organic solutions wherever possible.

Accepting the award on behalf of TerraVerde, Nehme Moujaess, Managing Partner, commented,

Speaking after the event, Moujaess elaborated further on TerraVerde's objectives. "The preservation of water resources is clearly a major concern in this region's arid desert environment, but we are also committed to sustainability across the whole spectrum of environmental issues."
