Splash Design It competition makes it BIG!
Winners go home with exciting prizes!

The Splash Design It Competition, which started on the 1st of August till the 23rd of September across all its stores, finally drew to a close with the selection of a Grand Prize winner and 15 other winners across three age categories. The winners were felicitated at a function on the 15th of October at Splash’s Deira City Center store followed by a fun shopping spree where they can redeem their gift vouchers!

The Grand Prize Winner, Manali Bahulekar from Dubai, will receive a complete wardrobe make-over worth AED 5000 courtesy Splash. Her T-shirt design will be recreated to become the official T-shirt for the Back 2 School Festival, being organized by Center Stage Management (CSM) Events at Dubai Festival City on the 17th of October. Five winners each from the 3 age categories will also receive a Gift Voucher worth AED 500 courtesy Splash.

In its first season the competition drew in over 6500 entries from across UAE. Speaking about the huge response the competition has received, Splash’s CEO Mr Raza Beig said, “Children as young as 6 years old to 18 years sent in entries that showcased talent and rich imagination they have. The theme ‘Shout.Share.Live.Unite’ has been interpreted beautifully by entrants, and it was a daunting task to choose the Grand Prize winner. The winning design conveys this message in an artistic and subtle manner.”

Jackie Wartanian the MD of CSM Events when speaking about the initiative said, “The association between Back 2 School fest and Splash has given the event unbelievable exposure across the Middle East. We are delighted to hear how enthusiastic the kids were about the Splash Design IT competition and were impressed with all of the entries received. This is the first year Back 2 School fest is taking place, finally an event for kids under the age of 18! With helpful & committed sponsors such as Splash we trust the event will be fun, successful, draw a large number of families and more importantly grow every year.”

The winners will also attend the Back 2 School fest on 17th October where they will walk the ramp. The venue will have a special stall where the top 150 entries will be put up on the Splash Wall of Fame.  They can also spend the day watching the final rounds of various performing arts’ competitions being held at the venue, check out the ‘arts & crafts’ area and step into special entertainment zones such as the ‘teen dance tent’ created for their entertainment. Finally, in the evening they can watch teen-rock act ‘Alien Ant farm’ perform live.

The Splash Design It Competition was introduced by Splash in a bid to give school children a fun activity to express their creativity through design and imagination which are values that Splash holds at its core.
