Emirates Palace hosts world's top tennis aces
Starting the new year calendar of activities with an exciting sports event , the Emirates Palace played host during this week to the world’s top seed tennis players who took part in the first Capitala international tennis championship staged in Abu Dhabi. The event aimed to raise awareness of the benefits of tennis and the importance of an active healthy lifestyle, whilst also leaving a legacy for the community beyond the tournament.

It was the first time that a galaxy of world's top tennis players gathered face to face at the luxury hotel. The three-day tournament saw the world's best male players the likes of Rafael Nadal: from Spain , world number 1, Roger Federer: from Switzerland, world number 2, Andy Murray: from Great Britain, world number 4, Nikolay Davydenko:
from Russia, world number 5, Anddy Roddick:  from USA, world number 6  and James Blake: from USA, world number 10 competing for a title in Abu Dhabi.

Hans Olbertz, General Manager, Emirates Palace, said :''We are extremely delighted at hosting the world's tennis stars who came to Abu Dhabi for the first time to compete in the  three-day exciting tournament.Emirates Palace is frequently contributing and supporting artistic ,
cultural and sports events of the elite class as part of its commitment to establish Abu Dhabi as a capital of culture and sports in the region and draw the attention of the world to it as an attractive destination for luxury, high-end tourism and leisure around the year,''he added.

The world class tennis players have expressed admiration at the magnificent hotel. After having a tour of the Palace, they commended the property as a tourist miracle and an artistic masterpiece that is second to none in the world.

They hoped they would come back to spend their vacation at the wonderful hotel and stay more time in Abu Dhabi which they viewed as one of the world's most charming, safest and modern cities.

The winner of the championship title, Andy Murray, said he was impressed with majestic and splendor of the hotel.

'' The Hotel is amazing, unbelievable; I have never seen anything like it,'' Murray Said in public and on the microphone when asked by the host at the stadium after he received the trophy.
