IBS-MAPEI, a leader in the production of adhesives, sealants and chemical products for buildings and the local subsidiary of Mapei in UAE, has sponsored Jason Burnside of Team 77 for this year’s UAE National Motorcycle Championship in Dubai.
MAPEI’s association with international sporting events dates back to the Munich Olympics of 1972 where the company provided many construction-related materials. MAPEI has since provided such materials for every edition of the Games. Also, Mapei was the main sponsor of the 2009 Road Cycling World Championship which took place in Mendrisio (Canton Ticino, Switzerland) from 23rd to 27th September.
The bike is strikingly and distinctively branded ýusing MAPEI colour cubes. Considering that the bikes taking part in such races reach up to 260 kmph, MAPEI had to ensure that the branding is recognisable from a distance even while travelling at high speeds.
Team 77 was established in 2007 by Jason Burnside as a private entrant to ýparticipate in the 2007-2008 UAE National Motorcycle Stock Championships ýheld at the Dubai Autodrome. In his first season Jason was a podium finisher in 14 of the 16 races, which led ýto an impressive second place overall for the championship and also the ýhighest placed rookie for the season.
