Amr Diab rocks the city of London
Posted: 07-12-2004 , 11:02 GMT

Egyptian pop-star Amr Diab has very recently held a successful concert at the Carling Apollo in Hammersmith, London. Fans had waited for the singer outside for hours before the concert started wanting to show how anxious they were to hear him perform.

According to the London based daily, Al Sharq Al Awsat, the concert was sponsored by AG Productions, which specializes in organizing concerts and the promotion of the brightest singers from the Arab world around Europe. Amr presented some of his most popular songs to an audience that kept up with him for over two hours.

The singer had headed off to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia during the first week of the holy month of Ramadan to perform the religious pilgrimage - Umra. The singer revealed that he had dedicated it to the memory of his deceased father, he also said he had performed a second Umra at the end of Ramadan for himself as well.

Recently, during his visit to Lebanon, Amr spoke about his dispute with his ex-producer Muhsen Jaber, declaring an end to their problems. However Amr did not elaborate on whether a renewed relationship with Muhsen was indeed an indication of shaky ties with his current production company - Rotana.

On another note, Diab has denied recent rumors that a dispute has occurred between him and prominent Egyptian actress Faten Hamama - that he turned down a dinner invitation from her. The singer stressed that he never received an invitation from Faten and that if he had, he would have been the first one to arrive. – Albawaba.com
