Seekers of Freedom heat up the screen
Posted: 20-12-2004 , 15:28 GMT

Friday December 10, 2005 will mark the grand finale of the 28th Cairo freedomInternational Film Festival, which is headed by the Ministry of Culture. Egypt has participated in two films instead of three after the film “Cholesterol Free” pulled out at the last minute.

According to the London based Elahp, the two films that remained in the race were “Al Bahithat An Al Huria” (Seekers of Freedom) and “Inta Umri” (You Are My Life). The movie “Seekers of Freedom” revolves around three young females who go off to live in Paris in search of their freedom. The girls are Amal from Lebanon who flees from war, Soad from Morocco who runs away from poverty and her family, and Aydah from Egypt who strives to fulfill her artistic passion in France.

The three girls learn throughout the course of events that freedom is not sought in a place but must come within a person. The film stars Nicole Broadwell, Sana Muzian, Ahmad Izz, Hisham Salim, Dalia Al Buhairi and is directed by Egyptian controversial director Enas Al Dughaidi.

'freedom is not sought in a place but must come within a person.' Never before have I seen such a blantant piece of propaganda masquerading as a news report before. It is meerly an artistic attempt to justify represion, and to make the masses feel good about not being free. Morons!

Is that Ahmed Ezz in that picture? If so, this film is way to controversial! But true this stuff does happen, and these girls I think are pretty dumb as to do stuff like this-leave there parents and go on to the west as to find themselves whores at the end. God be and prevent them to not do stuff like this.
