Egyptian actor Farouq Al Fishawi refuses to be part of the movie "Amarit Ya’qubian" "Ya’qubian’s Building." The story is written by the novelist Ala’ Al Aswani. The movies is starting famous Egyptian actors; the comedian Adel Iman, the powerful Nour El Sharif, Laila Ilwi, Ahmad Ratib, Hind Sabri, and Jihan Qamari.

Fishawi’s refusal came few days before the beginning of the filming. Fishawi refused his role as a homosexual journalist because he did not want the role to affect his image. He wanted to improve his role in the film to fit the modern society that we live in, since the film crosses some courageous ideas.

Homosexuality is still a sensitive topic in the Egyptian cinema. Many producer came across it; however, it was used as a comedy not a serious issue. The famous comedian Adel Imam criticize Fishawi for his refusal. Imam believes that such have no affect on the actor as a person and the two shouldn’t be associated. Imam emphasized that acting is just a job.

The producer of the film Marwan Hamed has found a new face to start this courageous role.
