Haifa Wahbi denies singing with her legs
Posted: 02-02-2005 , 13:48 GMT

Lebanese singer Haifa Wahbi has expressed extreme anger towards a Tunisian journalist, Samir Al Wafi, who had written a very spiteful and harsh article about her. The journalist had written an article about a month ago under the title “singing legs” in which he attacked many female singers, who depend on seduction to achieve success.r

Samir stressed in his article that singers like Haifa do not depend on their voices, but rather on their provocative style in music videos and on stage during concerts. He added that they resemble legs singing and not authentic voices.

Haifa had expressed her disappointment at the harsh words written by Samir to one of the Tunisian radio stations and the sadness was very apparent in her voice to the point that she was forced to take a break during the interview.

The latest album “Bidi Eish” (I want to live) by Haifa has finally been released under the production of Rotana, after being postponed numerous times. From the moment the album was released in stores, it has witnessed tremendous success in terms of sales.

The officials at Rotana were shocked at the number of sales reaching 30 thousand copies on the first day in Beirut alone not including other Arab capitals. Haifa has expressed her joy at the huge success her album was witnessing especially since she had worked so hard on it to make it meet the highest standards.
