Posted: 17-02-2005 , 16:15 GMT

Egyptian belly dancer Lucy has revealed that despite the negative criticism she received for entering the music world and after the inappropriate video clip "Ya Imghair Hali" she released, she will keep on singing. Lucy stressed that she is currently working on her second album and plans on choosing some of the songs to film in the form of music videos.l

Lucy added that she will combine dancing and singing in her new release and stressed that she had succeeded in singing in the past before going into acting and regardless of what people may say she feels she has the talent.

Recently, Lucy began giving belly dancing instruction through the Arab satellite television channel MTV. The dancer has signed an agreement with the station to give lessons for a wage of one thousand dollars per episode. Lucy was chosen after some of her colleagues had demanded a wage of five thousand dollars per episode, a price that the station refused to pay.

Lucy has recently participated in the Oriental Dance Festival in Paris-France, which took place earlier this week. Lucy revealed that she received a special invitation by the head of the festival to attend and to train other participating dancers from around the world. During her stay in Paris Lucy took advantage of her time and bought an entire wardrobe for her upcoming music video. The dancer plans on shooting a new clip for the song "Taal Al Ghiab", which is to be directed by Mohammad Mustafa. Lucy added that in the clip she will surprise her audience with her new look, which she is positive will find acceptance.

Lucy has denied being prosecuted by the Egyptian Musician Association or the Egyptian Censorship Committee over her latest music video for the song "Ya Imghair Hali". Lucy added that she had read the news of her prosecution like everyone else through the press and was shocked to learn that such rumors were being spread. Lucy stressed that such rumors occur by people who are jealous of the success she has achieved through her dancing and now singing career. The dancer/singer revealed that she is currently working on another album, which she believes has angered some of the female singers in the music industry, who she also strongly feels were behind such rumors.

Rumors had it that Lucy has been classified by the Egyptian Censorship Committee among the group of singers who are considered to be seductive and follow an inappropriate style in their music videos. A member of the Egyptian Musician Association has filed a complaint against the singer for using methods that are considered too demeaning stressing that she will face a possible elimination from the association. Lucy has received numerous criticism over her video and is also facing problems with the Egyptian Censorship Committee, which is demanding a banning of the clip
