Prominent Egyptian belly dancer Fifi Abdo is scheduled to make a comeback to the small screen in a new made for television movie “Al Ikhtifa” (The Disappearance). The film is written and directed by Ahmad Shafiq, and revolves around a resigned dancer who decides to begin a huge charitable project.
Throughout the course of events, the dancer faces numerous obstacles from individuals who are against her project, because it is not to their advantage. The situation leads her to return to disappear and return to the dance stage. Prominent Egyptian actors Farouq Al Fishawi, Hassan Husni and Hisham Salim will costar in the film alongside Fifi.
In an attempt to settle differences and apologize, Fifi announced that she never intended to hurt or insult Egyptian actress Shireen Seif Nasr in the remarks she made publicly on the television program “For Those Who Dare Only” on the Lebanese Broadcasting Company (LBC).
Fifi apologized to Shireen on the program “Al Bait Baitak” on Egyptian television, and revealed that she was answering questions spontaneously while on “For Those Who Dare Only” and the fact that journalist Abdul Fatah was there made her lose her temper and not carefully think of what she was saying.
Fifi added that she holds great respect for Shireen and the remarks she had made were regarding Shireen’s ex-husband, Midhat Saleh, and were not an attack on her.
For the first time in her career, Fifi will steer away from playing roles that have gained her popularity and will play the role of a sophisticated businesswoman in the upcoming television drama “Ta’r Al Hubb”. Fifi had come accustomed to playing the role of the village woman or dancer in most of her television dramas.
In the new drama, Ffi will play the role of Ashgan, a businesswoman who faces antiques merchants and most prove herself successful in dealing with them. The first scenes of the series are scheduled to be shot by next week under the direction of Mostapha Al Shamal. Prominent Egyptian actor Kamal Abu Raya will costar with Fifi along with Ahmad Rateb and Ahmad Khalil.
