Officials at the Kuwaiti Information Ministry have confirmed that its ‘Censorship Department’ has refused a request for a concert during the Muslim holiday Eid Al Fitr for Lebanese singer Nancy Ajram and Kuwaiti singer Nabil Shu’ail. 
A committee member stated that Nancy should not be allowed to sing at public celebrations in Kuwait and supported the Ministry’s decision to ban her.
Egyptian singer Ruby is also banned from performing in Kuwait.
On a different note, Nancy revealed that she plans on releasing her upcoming album during the Muslim holiday Eid Al Fitr, at the beginning of November.
For the first time in her career, her album will feature only six Lebanese and Egyptian songs.
Nancy has yet to select the song she will film in the form of a music video, and hopes to make a decision in time to complete the clip for release along with the album.
Nancy has answered back to all those who opposed her being honored at the eleventh round of the Cairo International Song Festival, claiming that she was too young and unqualified for such an honor.
During the event, which took place at the Cairo Opera House, Nancy stated, “I believe that I have presented a number of very successful works, and this award does not measure age, but rather the success a person has achieved.”
Nancy also denied that she was honored only as a ploy to have her sing at the event for free, stressing that even if she was not honored she had intended on performing. It is an honor alone to sing at the Opera House, she added.
