Haifa Wahbi out of Rotana!
Posted: 24-11-2005 , 12:19 GMT

Rumors have it that there is a big possibility that Lebanese singer Haifa Wahbi will be leaving her production company Rotana and moving to Alam El Phan Production, owned by Muhsin Jaber. This move comes at a time when the singer’s three-year contract has ended and she expressed no interest of renewing it for a second term.haifa

According to the London based daily, Al Hayat, the possibility of Haifa’s move is increased especially after Muhsin Jabr agreed to record all of her songs, which she sang on her reality television program “Al Wadi” (The Ranch) and feature them in one album, a matter that Rotana refused to do.

Haifa stressed that she is very disappointed with Rotana at the way they allowed their relationship to weaken, in addition to her outrage at the negligence of the company with promoting her last album “Bidi Eish” (I Want to Live).

On a different note, the international soft drink company Pepsi has chosen Wahbi as their new star to market their products. The company intends to launch a new add campaign featuring Haifa, and will begin filming the singer’s first commercials at the start of the New Year.

Many speculate that the company has chosen Haifa after its rival company, Coca Cola chose Lebanese singer Nancy Ajram as their star.

Wahbi has begun preparations for her third album, and is holding extensive work sessions with composers. Haifa’s last two albums achieved significant success around the Arab world, marked by the tremendous popularity of her songs.
